Happy to be underway again after a busy weekend locating a replacement battery, stocking up with fresh foods, enjoying Charlie and Ayessa’s welcome hospitality and fixing a few niggles on the boat.
The log records a steady 5 knts of NE wind rising to 6 when the engine was switched off and Rope Sole lifted her skirts and beckoned for more.
In the early hours of May 1st under a bright half moon Cape Vincent was cleared by 2.6 nm while dolphins played happily around the boat….later that day ‘ too many to count’ was recorded.
The log is rather boring, a stiff furler was fixed, fishing vessels were spotted and purple pig was eaten for supper, ( Simon remembers putting rather too much red wine in the pot!)
May 2 Just before midnight Rope Sole sailed into Spanish waters and the courtesy flag was hoisted.
With heavy sea, a foul tide and an Easterly wind the guys romped into Gibraltar at 14.30
